We present a video summary of the progress in the construction of the new headquarters of the Nowy Sącz Branch of the National Archives in Kraków.
The Archive building has two floors. The lower floor is for public access and storage, while the upper floor will house office spaces and work areas for handling records, including a digitization studio, as well as additional storage facilities. The total usable office space in the building is 642.65 square meters, and the extensive storage area will allow for the storage of 9,432.00 linear meters of archival materials. Ground source heat pumps and air source heat pumps, along with 21 ground probes, will provide heating and cooling. To protect against fire in the archival storage areas, an automatic water mist fire suppression system will be installed, designed to suppress fires in rooms with archival shelves. The building’s facade is designed as a ventilated facade, with an external finish of aluminum panels attached to a structural metal subframe.
In the new headquarters, archival materials from the Nowy Sącz and Podhale regions will be stored. The investment is funded by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage.
