December 18, 2023

We are pleased to inform you that the reconstruction of the wastewater treatment plant in Wiechlice, supervised by ECM Group Polska S.A., was officially opened by the Mayor of the Szprotawa Municipality, Józef Rubacha, on November 4, 2014. During this ceremony, the sewage from Szprotawa was directed to the new technological process.

The ceremonial opening was organized in the presence of representatives from various institutions involved in the implementation of the “Comprehensive Water and Wastewater Management Solution for the Szprotawa Agglomeration” project. During the ribbon-cutting ceremony, the Mayor of Szprotawa was accompanied by: Alicja Makarska – President of the Regional Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management in Zielona Góra, Maciej Gramowski – President of ATA-TECHNIK Sp. z o.o., Waldemar Sługocki – Member of the Polish Parliament, and children from the K. Makuszyński Primary School in Wiechlice. The event was graced by the presence of Maria Szablowska – Voivodeship Inspector for Environmental Protection in Zielona Góra, Jacek Stępień – District Sanitary Inspector, Lucjan Stadnik – President of the Board of SZWIK Sp. z o.o., as well as numerous delegations from the Contractor, Contract Engineer, and local councilors, led by Chairman Andrzej Skawiński.

During brief speeches, Member of Parliament Waldemar Sługocki emphasized the special nature of this investment due to the “additional portfolio” that Szprotawa managed to obtain beyond what was allocated for the region. President Alicja Makarska congratulated the undertaking, emphasizing that spending funds translates into a growing result indicator. The Szprotawa municipality has effectively expanded the project, benefiting over 2,000 additional people by connecting them to the newly constructed sanitary sewer network.

In a congratulatory letter from President Maria Szablowska, the Mayor received words of recognition for the determination and consistently implemented investment, serving as an example of sustainable, economic development focused on the ecological standards of the modern world.

On this occasion, Mayor Józef Rubacha thanked the Contractor and the Contract Engineer for their excellent cooperation and dedication throughout the entire process of creating the facility. He summarized that a total of 32 million PLN had been spent on its construction, and he looks with satisfaction at the outcome.

The project is co-financed by the European Union from the funds of the Cohesion Fund under the Operational Programme “Infrastructure and Environment” for 2007-2013.
